Acetic Acid – Promotes acid catalyzed ring opening of the glycan reducing terminus prior to the formation of an imine intermediate between the sugars and the unprotonated form of the dye
LudgerTag Glycan Labeling Kit reagents are purified to analytical grade and are dispensed and sealed under clean, inert atmospheres. The ampoules are pre-cleaned by pyrolysis at 500°C then opened just before dispensing and sealing under oxygen-free dry nitrogen. These controls ensure that your analyses work properly each and every time.
Other “instant” labeling systems label the amino group formed during PNGase f release before hydrolysis of the reducing terminal of the sugar. This means these systems cannot be used to label any pre-released glycan standards or other sugars with free reducing ends such as O-glycans, GSL-glycans, or GAGS.
The DMB Sialic Acid Labeling Kit has been developed for the qualitative analysis of sialic acids
Procainamide labeled glycans are commonly used in HILIC-(U)HPLC and ESI-MS assays. Procainamide gives >3 times more response in HPLC assays compared to 2-AB labelled glycans and >30 times more response for ESI-MS.
Permethylation stabilizes sialic acids for MALDI-MS techniques and aids linkage analysis studies (MALDI-MS, ESI-MS).
Glycan Labeling Kit Components
Fluorescent Dye – The comprehensive range of LudgerTag dyes include 2-AB, 2-AA, Procainamide, DMB, and APTS to cover different types of glycoanalyses by HPLC, CE, and MS.
DMSO – An anhdrous solvent used to dissolve all the components of the reductive amination labeling reaction.
Sodium Cyanoborohydride or Non-Toxic 2PB – This reductant stabilizes the imine produced by the reaction of the dye and glycans to produce stable fluorescently labeled glycan
Procainamide labeling permits glycan identification by either mass spectrometry or UHPLC. Because of its improved ionisation efficiency compared to 2-AB labelling, it can permit identification of minor glycans (1% relative peak area) by ESI-MS.

This kit is used for the permethylation of glycans. Permethylation stabilizes sialic acids for MALDI mass spectrometry analysis, and aids linkage analysis studies (MALDI-MS, ESI-MS).
- Improves and enhances ionization efficiency of glycans on mass spec
- Increased glycan hydrophobicity enables LC-MS analysis
- Relative and absolute quantitation can be performed
- Stabilizes the sialic acid moieties
- Easier determination of branching and glycosidic linkage positions
- Enables detection of both neutral and acidic glycans in positive ion mode

The LudgerTag Monosaccharide Analysis Kit contains reagents for the release and fluorescent labeling of monosaccharides found on glycoprotein biopharmaceuticals and standards.
Part Number: LT-MONO-96
The LudgerTag DMB Sialic Acid Labeling Kit has been developed for the qualitative analysis of sialic acids
The kit contains two sets of the labeling reagents and a sialic acid reference panel (pictured).
Typically, up to 15 separate analytical samples can be labeled per set.
Part Number: LT-KDMB-A1
The LudgerTag V-tag labeling kit is designed for the fluorophore labeling of enzymatically digested peptides and glycopeptides followed by enrichment of the labeled glycopeptides. The V-tag labeled glycopeptides are analyzed using MALDI-MS and HPLC/UHPLC
